Shaw 'Nuff

A bebop line on the chord changes of "I Got Rhythm", recorded on May 11, 1945 and credited to Gillespie and Parker.
Dizzy Gillespie, from Shaw 'Nuff / Lover Man (1945)

"Shaw 'Nuff" is credited to Gillespie and Parker. Wikidata classes it as a bebop composition and a contrafact of "I Got Rhythm", in B-flat major, published in 1945. The original was recorded in New York on May 11, 1945 by Dizzy Gillespie and His All Stars, matrix G566A-1, running 3:01, with the quintet of Gillespie, Parker, Al Haig, Curley Russell and Sid Catlett, and was issued on Guild 1002 and then Musicraft 354. The Internet Archive has a digitized copy of the Musicraft 78.

A second early version was broadcast on an Armed Forces Radio Jubilee program in Hollywood around December 29, 1945 by Gillespie's Rebop Six. MusicBrainz lists later recordings of the tune from 1946 to 2011, including live versions in 1948, 1957, 1961, 1966, 1984, 1990 and 2001, without attributing all of them to Gillespie. No explanation of the title was found: the story that Shaw refers to his agent Billy Shaw is told for Parker's "Billie's Bounce", not this tune, so it is not repeated here. Which recording our upload is was not established.
