"M62 Song" runs 3:48 and is the fourth track on The Last Broadcast. The album sleeve states that it is an adaptation of King Crimson's "Moonchild", which is why the credits include Robert Fripp, Michael Giles, Greg Lake, Ian McDonald and Peter Sinfield alongside the band. Andy Williams sings lead, with Goodwin on backing vocals.
The credits say it was recorded under a flyover of the M62 motorway in Northenden. In a 2022 podcast interview Andy Williams said it was actually under the M60 flyover and that the band got the name wrong, adding that M62 Song sounds better anyway. A Guardian review in 2002 singled it out as one of the more intimate acoustic pieces on the record.
