Atlantis
Their 1973 concept album: a sixteen-minute suite about a destroyed island on side one, and shorter songs on side two.
Earth and Fire, 1973
Atlantis is a progressive rock concept album whose side-one suite tells of a greedy, corrupt island destroyed by the four elements: earthquakes, volcanoes, gases and flood. The title piece runs 16:22 in seven sections (Prelude, Prologue, Rise and Fall, Theme of Atlantis, The Threat, Destructions, Epilogue). According to DPRP's retrospective, citing the Hermsen biography, the label wanted something commercial and quick after the previous album, and the band later said they felt rushed and not fully happy, and stopped playing "Atlantis" soon after the tour. The cover is a four-panel wide painting by Erik van der Weyden. Recording dates and the studio were not found.
Jerney Kaagman sings; Chris Koerts plays electric and acoustic guitars, Gerard Koerts organ, Mellotron, piano, synthesizer, flute and virginal, Hans Ziech bass and Ton van der Kleij drums and percussion. It reached number six in the Netherlands and went gold. Progarchives lists an average of 3.51 from 142 ratings. It was reissued on vinyl for Record Store Day 2026.
