Maybe Tomorrow, Maybe Tonight

The only single from Atlantis, a three-minute rock song that reached number three in the Netherlands in 1973.
Earth and Fire, from Atlantis (1973)

Wikipedia credits "Maybe Tomorrow, Maybe Tonight" to Gerard Koerts, Hans Ziech and Chris Koerts; the fan archive earthandfire.nl lists Gerard Koerts as composer and the three as lyricists. It is track two on Atlantis, 3:12, and the album's only single (Polydor 2050 084, February 1973), backed with "Theme from Atlantis"; it was released in the Netherlands, UK, USA, Germany, Belgium and Turkey. DPRP highlights an organ-driven intro, melodic verses and two guitar solos, bluesy hard rock with a progressive edge, and a Progarchives reviewer calls it the most pop-oriented number on the album, still using Mellotron.

It entered the Dutch Top 40 on March 3, 1973 and ran eleven weeks to May 12, with weekly positions of 20, 8, 5, 4, 3, 3, 5, 9, 12, 21 and 33, peaking at three; it reached number nine in Belgium (Flanders) and 44 in Germany. The band played it on the German show Der Musikladen on June 19, 1973, and at Alexandra Palace in London on July 29, 1973, their first and last English show. It reached number 772 in the Top 2000 of NPO Radio 2, in which it appeared from 1999 to 2016, and is on the Greatest Hits compilations of 1980 and 1991. No lyric commentary from the band, no covers and no samples were found.
