Heaven

Heaven is the second track on side B of Ebo Taylor's 1977 Essiebons album, 6:05 on the Strut reissue. It was later on Ghana Soundz in 2002, on Life Stories as its first track in 2011 and on Afro Tropical Soundz Vol. 1, a 2010 promo CD. It became a cult favorite among DJs and collectors; Music in Africa calls it a classic of Ghanaian afrobeat, and PopMatters in 2011 called it an afrobeat classic in which the lead guitar cuts through the organ. Taylor's own account of its subject was not found.

Usher, with Ludacris, sampled it for She Don't Know on Raymond v. Raymond, which reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 after its US release on March 30, 2010; Taylor is credited among the writers, with Usher Raymond, Sean Garrett, Shondrae Crawford and Christopher Bridges, and Bangladesh and Garrett produced it. Sources give the year of the sample as 2009 or 2010. Setlist.fm counts three performances of Heaven by Taylor.
