Felton Jarvis

Produced by Felton Jarvis at RCA Studio B in Nashville. Most of it came from five days of sessions in June 1970 that yielded 35 usable tracks, with Presley recording his vocal in the same take as the band. Jarvis and Presley realized they had several country songs in hand and recorded more to make a full country album. They returned in September for Snowbird and a one-take Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On. Fragments of I Was Born About Ten Thousand Years Ago bridge each track. The lead single, I Really Don't Want to Know with There Goes My Everything on the other side, came out on 8 December 1970 and reached number 21 on the Hot 100.

The album reached number 12 in the US and number six in the UK, and was certified Gold in December 1977. The cover is a colorized photograph of Elvis as an infant. A 2004 CD reissue added six bonus tracks, and a Legacy Edition in 2012 paired it with Love Letters from Elvis.
