Lifetime

The opening track of In the Can, which Spin pointed readers to when Peter Banks died.
Flash, from In the Can (1972)

"Lifetime" opens In the Can and was also released as a single, in 1973 according to Background Magazine, with "Watch Your Step" on the B-side; Wikipedia lists it in the singles table with no year or chart data. No writing credit was found in the sources reached. The Background Magazine reviewer hears the typical Yes sound and guitar parts that may echo "Yours Is No Disgrace", while a collector's listing names it with "Black and White" as the album's best tracks, and a 2009 Gibson article called it Banks's tour-de-force. When Banks died in March 2013 Spin suggested readers spend ten minutes in silence and awe with it.

Setlist.fm has no Flash setlists, and whether the 1973 Kansas City show on In Public includes it was not confirmed. The song's meaning, covers and any video were not found, and the version of our upload is unknown.
