Dreams
Nicks's breakup song, written in about ten minutes, and the band's only US number one.

Nicks wrote it in about ten minutes in early 1976 at the Record Plant in Sausalito, sitting with a Fender Rhodes in another studio room. She liked that she had found a dance beat, which was unusual for her. Caillat made an eight-bar loop of Fleetwood's drumming, Christine McVie played vibraphone, and Buckingham worked out the chorus harmonies. Nicks recorded ten lead vocal tracks and the band used a guide vocal as the final take.
It was the second US single from Rumours, in March 1977, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on 18 June 1977, the only time the band topped that chart. It reached 24 in the UK. In a 2022 interview Nicks called it and Go Your Own Way counter songs that told the same breakup from different sides.
In 2020 a video of Nathan Apodaca skateboarding and drinking juice to the song went viral, and it re-entered the Hot 100 at number 21 on 17 October 2020, then rose to 12. Rolling Stone placed it ninth in its 2021 list of the 500 greatest songs.
