Galatea's Guitar
The opening track of Dreams, recorded in August 1968.
Gabor Szabo, from Dreams (1968)
"Galatea's Guitar" opens Dreams and was written by Szabo; it runs 5:33 on Wikipedia, 5:39 on HighResAudio and 5:40 on Session Days. JazzDisco dates the recording to August 6, 7 and 9, 1968 in Los Angeles with overdubs in New York on August 22, with the album's personnel. One reissue listing says its first notes make clear this is not an ordinary jazz album, and a retailer calls it cinematic psych-jazz, which is sales copy. Nothing from Szabo about what it means was found, nor any chart history, video, covers, samples or live performances; setlist.fm's first page of his shows has no performance of it. Nothing is known about our upload, which is assumed to be the album recording.
