Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada

Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada is the band's only EP, issued in Canada by Constellation and in the United States by Kranky. Dale Morningstar recorded it at his Gas Station studio in Toronto. The quarter-inch mastering was botched by Metalworks and repaired by Constellation and the band. It is a 12-inch with a piece on each side: "Moya" on side A at 45 rpm and "BBF3" on side B at 33 1/3.

"Moya" is named for Mike Moya, and setlists call it "Gorecki" because it reworks Gorecki's third symphony. "BBF3" is built around Blaise Bailey Finnegan III, interviewed on a sidewalk in Providence, Rhode Island. The poem he recites is mostly lyrics from Iron Maiden's "Virus", written by Blaze Bayley. The cover carries a Hebrew phrase meaning formless and empty, from Genesis and Jeremiah, and the inside cover prints Jeremiah 4:23 to 27 in Hebrew and English. The back cover shows Italian instructions for making a molotov cocktail. Titles appear nowhere on the cover, and the case opens in the opposite direction from a normal CD case, because the Hebrew reads right to left.
