Crafty Hands
Their second album: eight pieces, instrumental apart from one, with Ron Riddle on drums and a Greg Hawkes co-write opening.
Happy the Man, 1978
Crafty Hands was produced by Ken Scott. Whitaker plays 6- and 12-string guitars and sings, Wyatt pianos, harpsichord, saxophones and flute and wrote the words, Watkins pianos, harpsichord, Moog, fake strings, clavinet and recorder, Kennell bass, and Riddle drums and percussion; only "Wind Up Doll Day Wind" has vocals. AllMusic gave it four stars, and Steve Alspach called the group a very melodic, yet extremely accomplished ensemble, comparing them to Genesis and the Dixie Dregs.
