It was aimed at the R&B and disco market and produced two hits, the title track and "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This". AllMusic gave it three and a half stars and the Rolling Stone Jazz Record Guide two. The Bay State Banner wrote in 1977 that Muhammad is another jazz artist who has succumbed to the lure of money via the disco sound. "Crab Apple" is sampled in 2Pac's "Crooked Ass Nigga" and "Say What" in Nas's "Dr. Knockboots".
