Terry Brown produced the record, with Simon Osborne as recording engineer and Trevor Hallesy mixing, and Bob Ludwig mastered it at Masterdisk. Orford played keyboards, saxophone and flute, Menel sang and played tambourine, and Noel McCalla added some backing vocals. Menel wrote the lyrics for most tracks, and Orford and Menel shared them on War Heroes.
Like Nomzamo it leaned toward a commercial, radio-friendly sound without much success, though it kept some progressive tracks. Sold on You was released as a single, and Wurensh, at 9:38, was its longest track. Wurensh later turned up in a live medley with The Enemy Smacks and The Darkest Hour.
