"Six O'Clock News" opens Failer, 4:36, written by Edwards. It was a single with "Hockey Skates". Rolling Stone describes it as a fictitious murder narrative, and a 2003 review calls it a videogenic vignette with a sting in the tail, the narrator failing to prevent the public death of the father of her child. No account of its intent in Edwards's own words was found. It was covered by the 2004 Juno nomination for Songwriter of the Year.
