Lonesome Standard Time was produced, engineered and mixed by Brent Maher at Creative Recording and mastered by Glenn Meadows at Masterfonics. Players include Steve Nathan, Matt Rollings and Pete Wasner on keyboards, Bill Cooley, Don Potter and Bernie Leadon on guitars, Sonny Garrish, Russ Pahl and Jerry Douglas on steel and dobro, Eddie Bayers on drums and Duncan Mullins on bass, with Tim O'Brien and Gary Burr on backing vocals. The singles were "Lonesome Standard Time" (number 11), "Standing Knee Deep in a River (Dying of Thirst)" (19), "Seeds" (50) and "Listen to the Radio" (64). It reached 41 on the country albums chart and was certified gold in November 1994; AllMusic's Brian Mansfield gave it 4.5 stars and Entertainment Weekly's Alanna Nash a B, calling it too reverent and sluggish.
