The title translates as "to the living room." Lee said she used to scream it around the house as a girl to get everybody into the living room, and that making the album felt like that, a wish to get back to square one between the three of them. It is the band's first album without any additional collaborators. All songs are credited to Khruangbin, produced by Speer and Christensen, with mastering by Chris Longwood. The singles were A Love International, May Ninth and Pon Pón.

Pitchfork's Rosy Alvarez described it as woven from unreleased recordings and beat loops, with less of everything, including vocals and synths. She noted a shift into a Congolese soukous rhythm midway through Hold Me Up (Thank You), and picked Ada Jean, built on a bassline from Lee, as the standout. AllMusic's Paul Simpson called it their most stripped-down effort since the debut. Metacritic scores it 76. The A La Sala tour ran from April 2024 to October 2024, with an extension from February to September 2025.
