Ali

The album covers songs by the Malian guitarist Ali Farka Touré, who died in 2006, played with his son Vieux Farka Touré. Vieux's manager suggested Khruangbin, and Vieux met them at a pub in London and chose to work with them after their 2018 concert at the Roundhouse. Ali's eleven children chose the songs. The album was recorded over a week in June 2019 at the barn in Burton, put on hold by the COVID-19 pandemic and finished in 2021.

Alexis Petridis gave it five stars in The Guardian and called the pairing an inspired choice. Janne Oinonen of The Line of Best Fit wrote that Khruangbin add welcome grit to their smooth and hazy sound. Metacritic scores it 80.
