"Slim's Return" is the second track on Shades of Blue, 3:56, featuring Ahmad Miller and DJ Lord Such, after a 0:32 introduction; Radio Milwaukee calls it the intro track. Radio Milwaukee also calls it a remake of Gene Harris's "Book of Slim", which UDiscover says comes from the album Elegant Soul by Gene Harris and The Three Sounds, the first time Harris was billed separately. RapReviews instead names the source "The Look of Slim", and the title is not resolved. Guru of Gang Starr sampled the Harris original on "Take a Look (At Yourself)" in 1993.
RapReviews' Matt Jost describes a sparring session with bumpy drums, scratched samples, strings and vibraphone merging into a headnod monster. No recording date, personnel, meaning, video or live history was found.
