Boat Songs

Boat Songs was recorded and mixed by Alex Farrar at Drop of Sun in Asheville, and produced by Lenderman with Farrar and Colin Miller, who also mastered it; Wikipedia lists Lenderman alone as producer. The Bandcamp page says WWE matches and basketball games were projected silently on the studio walls during sessions, and that it is his most polished sound while still lo-fi. Lenderman played everything except Colin Miller's bass, keys and trumpet, Xandy Chelmis's pedal steel and guitars from Alex Farrar and Lewis Dahm on one track, with backing vocals from Karly Hartzman and Miller. Andrew James made the art.

The singles were "Hangover Game" (January 2022, when the album was announced) and "TLC Cage Match" (March 2022). Uncut's Erin Osmon compared it to John Prine and Neil Young with Crazy Horse, and Pitchfork's Sasha Geffen praised its disarming insights into the fray of living. In 2025 it re-entered the UK independent albums chart, peaking at 48.
