Pale Saints took the song from a single by Nancy Sinatra on Private Stock, which some radio stations banned for its suggestive lyrics. Dave Ellingson wrote it. Their version appeared on the Flesh Balloon EP and on a 7-inch single in June 1991, produced by Hugh Jones and sung by Barham, who has called it a favorite. It was recorded at Palladium Studios in Edinburgh and mixed at Roundhouse Studios in London. It reached number 72 in the UK and was later included on the compilation Precious in 1992. A demo of the song, recorded by Masters on a four-track, is on the demos disc of the In Ribbons reissue.
Toppermost called it the first crack in the band's immaculate track record. The singer Maria Somerville has since covered it, on the Japanese edition of 4AD's covers compilation Bills & Aches & Blues, which was later issued worldwide.
The upload in the hypersongs web is the official video on the 4AD channel.
