"Rain" is the first track on 1000 Kisses, 4:08, recorded in Nashville on April 17 and 18, 2001. It was the album's first radio single and had a video, which also appears on the DVD with A Kiss in Time, where a live version from the Ryman Auditorium on January 30, 2003 runs 4:41. The Austin Chronicle's review of May 17, 2002 named it among the album's best songs. No statement from Griffin about its meaning was found. Setlist.fm counts 28 performances, and it is not clear whether our upload is the studio or the live version.
