Tom Hall engineered, Ron Luder mastered and Griswold drew the cover. The 1988 reissue added "Prophecy", recorded in the Rage for Order sessions, and a 2003 remaster added a live set from the Nippon Seinenkan in Tokyo on August 5, 1984. The EP reached 81 on the Billboard 200 and is certified gold. AllMusic's Eduardo Rivadavia gave it three stars, noting an obvious Iron Maiden influence and Dungeons-and-Dragons lyrics and calling "The Lady Wore Black" more mature; Martin Popoff gave it 8 out of 10, and Rock Hard ranked it 336th in its 500 greatest rock and metal albums.
