It opens Poses, and a reprise with added percussion closes it. Pitchfork called it a Tin Pan Alley tribute that recalls the Divine Comedy at its more playful, and quoted the line about buying jellybeans and having to eat them all in one sitting. In another lyric he says the things he likes are "a little bit harmful for me". The video, directed by Giles Dunning and released by DreamWorks in 2001, shows Wainwright playing the song at a piano in a warehouse, and uses the reprise as its audio.

Wainwright played it at Central Park SummerStage for the 2005 DVD All I Want, and it is on the 2001 DVD Circuit 9. The song was used in the Italian film Caos Calmo, the reprise appears on the soundtrack of The Last Kiss (2006), and it turns up in the How I Met Your Mother episode Last Cigarette Ever. The Fauré Quartet recorded an instrumental version for the 2007 compilation Yellow Lounge: Compiled by Rufus Wainwright. It was one of three songs, with Poses and Grey Gardens, for which he was nominated for a Juno for Best Songwriter in 2002.
