The first official Sepultura single opens the album, with music by the band and lyrics by Max Cavalera. Max has said it is his favorite Sepultura song. He told Revolver it was the one he was proudest of, citing its main riff, which he thought owed something to Metallica's Blackened but was thrashier and more energetic. He called it the prototype of a death-thrash song. He told Kerrang! it is about war, and that the chorus line about the pale grey sky came from U2's Under a Blood Red Sky, which he said he ripped off.
The video was shot in Death Valley. It shows the band playing in daylight, intercut with a Christ-like figure in a gas mask hanging on a cross, and MTV America banned it for apocalyptic religious imagery. B-sides on the single were Inner Self and Troops of Doom from the Under Siege (Live in Barcelona) video. Crematorium, The Crown, Kalmah, DeadSquad, Havok and Aborted have all covered it.
