Say What You Will... was the debut studio album from Soul Asylum, released by Twin/Tone in 1984 and produced by Bob Mould of Husker Du. Blake Gumprecht was co-producer and Steve Fjelstad the engineer. The original release held nine songs, all written by Pirner, and sold 6,738 vinyl copies and 2,639 cassettes.
In 1988 the album was reissued on CD as Say What You Will, Clarence...Karl Sold the Truck, with five extra songs that had earlier appeared only on the cassette Time's Incinerator. The new title refers to Mueller selling the band's Chevrolet pickup for a larger Dodge van for the 1984 tour. A 2018 reissue on CD and vinyl, which added tracks by the earlier band Loud Fast Rules, was retitled Say What You Will...Anything Can Happen.
