The suite fills most of the first side of Fish Rising and runs in four parts: Sun Song (I Love Its Holy Mystery), Canterbury Sunrise, Hiram Afterglid Meets the Dervish, and a reprise of the Sun Song. Hillage wrote the music, with lyrics by him and Giraudy, and much of the material goes back to the Khan line-up of 1972. Dave Stewart's organ gives it a Canterbury color, and Hillage's echoing lead guitar carries the long instrumental middle, with Moerlen on drums and Malherbe on saxophone and flute. It was recorded at the Manor in September 1974.
It became a mainstay of his concerts, played from the Hyde Park show in 1976 through to the 2023 Steve Hillage Band tour. Rockpalast filmed it in March 1977, and a fourteen-and-a-half-minute version from the Rainbow Theatre that year is a bonus track on the 2007 Live Herald CD. The upload in the hypersongs web is the 2006 remaster.
