The fifth studio album was made mostly at David Odlum's Black Box studio in rural France, where Odlum produced, recorded the first eight tracks and mixed. Ag Mossa said they wanted a modern album with vintage sounds. The closing Tabsit was recorded in Japan by Keiji Matsui, with Atsushi Sakata on shamisen and OKI on the Ainu tonkori, and Hindi Zahra sings on Timtarin.

Metacritic averaged 79 from six reviews. Songlines made it an Editor's Choice, and Adriane Pontecorvo in PopMatters heard the Japanese strings as a cooling breeze over the electric heat. It was number one on the Transglobal World Music Chart in April 2020.
