The second track on Happy Sad was written much earlier than the rest of the album, when Buckley played in the Harlequin 3, a group with the bassist Jim Fielder and Larry Beckett. On the record it is one of the songs where Lee Underwood's guitar and David Friedman's vibraphone add tone and coloring, in Trouser Press's description of the yearning song.
It opens the set on Dream Letter: Live in London 1968, in a 6:13 version recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on 7 October 1968. Of the logged setlists that list songs, 19 of 36 include it, more than any other song.
