"A Remark You Made" was written by Zawinul and is the second track on Heavy Weather, 6:51 (6:52 in the discography). Zawinul plays Rhodes, ARP 2600 and Oberheim polyphonic synthesizer, Shorter tenor saxophone, Pastorius bass and Acuna drums. Zawinul told BAM in 1983 that he wrote it the first day that he had his Oberheim string synthesizer, and told Jazz in 1977 that the next day Jaco came over and we just did it, that every note Wayne played was there, and that they did it in one or two takes. He said of Pastorius that he had a sound that was so easy to write for, especially ballads.
