Great Lover has two songs a side: Tell Me What You Want and Great Lover on the first, Love Is Blind and I've Got Love on the second. Onyeabor is credited as composer, writer, arranger and producer and wrote the liner notes. The sleeve thanks his manager, Okay Obikwelu, along with studio attendants and instrumentalists.

Andy Beta noted that the back cover has photographs of the Wilfilms compound, with a four-story building, a 24-track recorder and a 32-track mixing console, and a picture of Onyeabor in a top hat captioned "We Mean Business". He heard reggae in Tell Me What You Want and a Ring My Bell feeling in the synth swoops of Love Is Blind, which was the only song from the album on Who Is William Onyeabor? in 2013.
