Recorded in California in July 1972 and issued in 1973, her final release for Impulse!. Coltrane plays piano, organ, harp, timpani and percussion and conducts a string ensemble, with Charlie Haden on bass and Ben Riley on drums. There are three originals, excerpts from Stravinsky's The Firebird and an arrangement of Going Home, which was adapted from the second movement of Dvorak's Symphony No. 9. In the liner notes she wrote that she received a visitation from Stravinsky, who gave her a small glass vial of clear liquid. Ed Michel said she opened the string players up so that they could do astonishing things.
AllMusic's Thom Jurek said she ended her Impulse! period with elegance, grace and soul. In 2018 Pitchfork's Matthew Kassel, reviewing a vinyl reissue, called it perhaps the most ecstatic record she made. He counted the orchestra at 25 instruments and heard bebop in her organ improvisations.
