Recorded at the Record Plant in New York in November 1971 and released in 1972, the second of her three albums with strings. Coltrane plays piano, organ, harp, tamboura and percussion, with Frank Lowe on saxophone, Reggie Workman on bass, Ben Riley on drums, Elayne Jones on timpani and a string ensemble led by David Sackson. Leroy Jenkins takes a violin solo on one track, and Swami Satchidananda provides narration on the second side. Her three originals, Galaxy Around Olodumare, Galaxy in Turiya and Galaxy in Satchidananda, sit between versions of My Favorite Things and A Love Supreme, two pieces associated with her husband.

AllMusic's Thom Jurek gave it four and a half stars. Jennifer Lucy Allan of The Guardian wrote that My Favorite Things starts sweetly but descends into a chaotic breakdown, and Stewart Smith of The Quietus described Galaxy Around Olodumare as free jazz via Stravinsky and Stockhausen. Impulse! reissued it in 2011 alongside Huntington Ashram Monastery.
