Soundtracks collected music Can had made for films and was released mainly to build on the debut's success in Germany. Damo Suzuki is on most of it. Pitchfork's Dominique Leone singled out Mother Sky as matching the intensity of the debut, with Suzuki giving it a sedated, half-gone feel, and noted that She Brings the Rain features Mooney and drops the drums for jazzy torch balladry.
