Apple

"Apple" was written by Charli, George Daniel, Linus Wiklund and Noonie Bao, and produced by Charli, A. G. Cook, Daniel and Wiklund. It was released to Italian radio on 2 August 2024 and reached US radio on 10 September. The song is about her relationship with her parents and intergenerational trauma, using apple idioms, and includes the line "I think the apple's rotten right to the core". Pitchfork's Meaghan Garvey heard the sweetness of the French musician Breakbot in it, and said no Charli lyric had bounced around her head the way lines from "Apple" did.

It went viral on TikTok after the creator Kelley Heyer posted a dance, and Charli filmed her own version with Troye Sivan. It reached number eight in the UK, number nine in Ireland, number 18 in Australia and number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance. A remix featuring the Japanese House appears on the remix album, and Griff covered it for Triple J's Like a Version in August 2024.
