Released on 10 November 2025 on Atlantic, "House" is the lead single of the Wuthering Heights soundtrack. Charli and the producer Finn Keane wrote the first version while on tour in Austin, and then she reached out to John Cale. He recorded a spoken-word poem for the track, which she said was something only John could do and made her cry. The song takes its guiding phrase from Cale's remark in Todd Haynes's Velvet Underground documentary that the band's sound needed to be elegant and brutal. Keane and Nathan Klein produced it, and Mitch Ryan directed the video.

It has been described as gothic rock, industrial rock and neoclassical darkwave, with comparisons to Nine Inch Nails. The Guardian's Alexis Petridis called it powerful, striking and rewarding and said it bore almost no relation in sound or mood to Brat, and heard echoes of the Velvet Underground in its droning strings and feedback. A line from the song, "I think I'm gonna die in this house", became the basis of a TikTok trend. The Guardian noted that the song had been streamed 10 million times by the time of the album review.
