Released on 29 February 2024 on Atlantic as the lead single from Brat, "Von dutch" was written by Charli and Finn Keane, who also produced it, with Tom Norris mixing. It looks back to her teenage years on Myspace and is about embracing being an object of gossip or obsession. The title refers to the fashion brand Von Dutch. Charli previewed the chorus in short TikTok clips, one of which featured Addison Rae.

She debuted it at her PARTYGIRL Boiler Room set in Brooklyn on 22 February 2024. Pitchfork named it a Best New Track, and its album review heard revving synths that recall the mid-2000s electro of Boys Noize and the Bloody Beetroots. The video, directed by Torso, was shot at Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Le Bourget airports from the point of view of a paparazzo chasing Charli. The song won the Grammy for Best Dance Pop Recording at the 67th ceremony in 2025, and was used as the official theme for WWE's 2025 Royal Rumble.

A remix with Addison Rae and A. G. Cook was released on 22 March 2024 and was nominated for Best Remixed Recording. Charli and Rae performed it together at Madison Square Garden on 23 September 2024 and at Coachella on 19 April 2025.
