Released with a short film directed by Colin Solal Cardo at the Palais Garnier in Paris, the EP was produced by Christine and the Queens and Ash Workman. Its title track features Caroline Polachek. The singles were People, I've Been Sad on 5 February 2020, I Disappear in Your Arms on 8 June and the title song on 14 August. Raven Bush played strings on two tracks and Michael Lovett on one.
Robin Murray of Clash gave it 8/10 and called People, I've been sad a glacial introduction, adding that the EP feels detached from Chris. Murray heard machine funk in Je disparais dans tes bras, pushed toward something distorted and almost industrial. Metacritic gave it 89. It reached number 28 on the Wallonia chart and number 5 in Scotland.
