The album is divided into three parts called Paranoia, Angels and True Love, and it is the second, third and fourth parts of a series that began with Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue). It was called the second part of an operatic gesture, inspired by the glorious dramaturgy of Tony Kushner's play Angels in America. The lead single was To Be Honest, released on 8 March 2023. Mike Dean is among the producers, and Madonna and 070 Shake are guests. Tears Can Be So Soft contains a sample of Marvin Gaye's Feel All My Love Inside, Full of Life a sample of Pachelbel's Canon in D, and Track 10 a sample of Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Lucky Man.

Metacritic gave it 78 from 14 reviews. Rachel Aroesti of the Guardian called it a masterpiece, and Otis Robinson of DIY a new magnum opus. Peyton Thomas of Pitchfork called it a 20-song epic that still feels like a first draft, and Heather Phares of AllMusic said it does not feel as rewarding as Chris or La Vita Nuova. It reached number 7 in the UK and Scotland and number 19 in France.
