Wind in Lonely Fences: 1970-2011

A two-disc retrospective running in order from the 1970 Buchla drone to a track from In the Mist.
Harold Budd, 2013

All Saints
Type
compilation

All Saints compiled the set and released it alongside vinyl reissues of The Serpent (In Quicksilver), Abandoned Cities and Through the Hill, and the seven-album Budd Box. Mike Powell of Pitchfork reviewed it in January 2014. He wrote that it begins with The Oak of the Golden Dreams, improvised on an old Buchla modular synthesizer, and ends with a piece from In the Mist. He called it a primer to a composer too often cited as a footnote and too modest to correct the record. Disc one runs from The Oak of the Golden Dreams to the title track of The Pearl. Disc two opens with a piece from The Moon and the Melodies and includes tracks written with Andy Partridge, John Foxx and Robin Guthrie.
