Recorded in Milan in January and February 1986, it features McLaughlin on the New England Digital Synclavier with its guitar interface. Craigh Milliner began the recording and Max Costa finished it, and McLaughlin and Costa mixed it. Costa also programmed the drums. Relativity released it, and PolyGram issued the CD in 1993.
The writing is spread through the band. Jim Beard wrote The Wait, Forman wrote Just Ideas and Mitch Match, and Evans wrote Half Man - Half Cookie. Florianapolis is by McLaughlin and Forman, and McLaughlin wrote the rest.
