Heroes to Zeros

It opens Heroes to Zeros and was the lead single, released in the UK on 12 April 2004 and in the US on 18 May. It reached 31 in the UK. Pete Fry on trombone, Neil Martin on trumpet and Pete Gainey on saxophone play the brass section. The UK singles carried Shrek on the B-side, and some formats added a C Swing bootleg mix.

Matt LeMay of Pitchfork called it one of the best tracks on the album and heard its heart and soul in the interplay between two similar guitar parts and one fantastic drum fill, with a bassline rising to prominence a few minutes in. A radio edit is on The Best of The Beta Band.
