Diamond Day
The opening track of Just Another Diamond Day, with a string and recorder arrangement by Robert Kirby.
Vashti Bunyan, from Just Another Diamond Day (1970)
Bunyan wrote it and Kirby arranged the strings and recorders; it was recorded at Sound Techniques in the winter of 1969 with Boyd producing and Boys engineering. The album reflects the journey with Lewis, and no statement from her specific to this song was found. Setlist.fm lists it as her most-played song, 16 times, and it was the second song of the Roundhouse set on April 20, 2024.
It has been used in a T-Mobile advertisement (one search source says UK, 2006, unverified), in the television series Skins in 2009, and in the films Babyteeth (2019) and Fremont (2023). No chart history, official video or covers were found.
