Fênix was produced and mixed by Daniel Maunick, who also recorded it with Carlos Machado, with Joe Davis as executive producer and Pete Norman mastering. Continentino plays keyboards and vocoder beside Malheiros and Conti, with Robertinho Silva on percussion and Maunick adding synthesizer and effects. Conti wrote or co-wrote Papa Samba, Corumbá and O Matagal, Continentino wrote Neptunians and Orange Clouds, and the album includes Villa Mariana (De Tarde).
Isabela Raygoza of Bandcamp Daily wrote that it "stands shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Azymuth's '70s classics." Conti later told Sounds and Colours it was "the rebirth for Azymuth."
