Telecommunication was recorded at Transamérica Studio in Rio in September 1981. Bertrami produced it with Malheiros as co-producer, five engineers worked on it, Danny Kopelson remixed it and George Horn mastered it. The guitarist Hélio Delmiro plays on Estreito de Taruma and on the ten-minute Last Summer in Rio, the longest track. The band also covers Nothing Will Be As It Was, written by Milton Nascimento with Rene Vincent and Ronaldo Bastos. In 2024 Malheiros told the Miami New Times that he considers it the band's finest.
