E.S.P. contains a sample of the actor Bela Lugosi from The Black Cat, the 1934 film. The line, as the A.V. Club quotes it, is Supernatural, perhaps. Baloney, perhaps not. The A.V. Club notes that it has been sampled in many places, from the Monkees' Head to Deee-Lite's E.S.P.
The song was one of the later singles that helped the album sustain steady sales through the months after Groove Is in the Heart, along with Power of Love and Good Beat.
