Power of Love

Recorded, written and produced by the group, it was released by Elektra in 1990 as the follow-up to Groove Is in the Heart. In the United States it reached number 47 on the Hot 100 and number 54 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It spent two weeks at number one on the Dance Club Songs chart. Overseas it peaked at 19 in New Zealand, 21 in Ireland and 25 in the UK.

Billboard's Larry Flick said it followed the debut with an equally engaging confection that weaves optimistic lyrics into a percolating pop and house fabric. Melody Maker praised Kier's gigantic and seemingly unassailable optimism, and Spin's Steven Daly called it a lusty house romp. Kier's Ye Yay chorus was reused in Club House's 1991 dance chart number one, Deep in My Heart. In 2015 Givenchy borrowed the line I believe in the power of love for the launch of its Fall 2016 collection.
