The Versions

The Versions was released on 10 June 2022 on EMI. Cherry told Stereogum the idea was born with the reissue of Raw Like Sushi. It has ten tracks, covers of her songs plus one remix, by female and non-binary artists. ANOHNI covers Woman, with production by ANOHNI and Thomas Bartlett, Greentea Peng takes on Buddy X, and Sia and Kelsey Lu each cover Manchild. Robyn, Mapei and Dev Hynes remake Buffalo Stance, a version inspired by a 2017 remix made for a Stockholm exhibition on hip-hop as a cultural force. Jamila Woods, Cherry's daughter TYSON, Sudan Archives and Seinabo Sey also contribute.

Ben Cardew of Pitchfork thought the Manchild covers by Sia and Kelsey Lu the highlights, and found the Buffalo Stance remake limp. 7 Seconds is not on the album. Metacritic scored it 75.
