Where's Your Head At was released on 19 November 2001 as the third single from Rooty. It is based on samples of Gary Numan's M.E. and This Wreckage. It reached number 9 in the UK and Canada and number 16 in Australia, and number 39 on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, their only charting single on a non-dance chart in the US. Pitchfork ranked it number 83 on its top 500 tracks of the 2000s.
The video, directed by Traktor, follows a man who visits a mental hospital in Prague, where a scientist shows him monkeys playing instruments. Their faces are human, and two of them belong to Buxton and Ratcliffe. The man learns that musicians' brains are being moved into monkeys and that he is next. It won two awards at the 11th Annual Music Video Production Awards, Best Electronica Video and Best Directorial Debut, and Pitchfork ranked it number 24 on its list of the top 50 music videos of the 2000s.
Remixes and covers
The single included a Stanton Warriors mix. In 2011 DJ Chuckie made a mashup of it that he played at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Melkbelly covered it in 2018, and 100 gecs released a remix in 2023.
