Released by Oval in 1991 under the name Jah Wobble's Invaders of the Heart, it peaked at number 121 on the ARIA chart and was shortlisted for the 1992 Mercury Prize. Sinead O'Connor sings "Visions of You" and "Sweet Divinity", and Natacha Atlas sings "Relight the Flame", "Bomba", "Erzulie" and "Soledad". The horns on "Erzulie" were arranged by Annie Whitehead and the Invaders and played by Mark Lockheart, Whitehead and Harry Beckett.
Trouser Press called it ambitious and a refreshing departure from the flat, occasionally tedious material of Wobble's 1980s work. The Rough Guide to Rock praised "Visions of You" and "Bomba".
