Dick Lee plays clarinet on Palermo Snow, Ugly James and Little Niles, the last on bass clarinet as well. Nick Turner recorded the first nine tracks and Colin Hood the closing Blueberry Hill and the clarinet parts. Renbourn produced.

Along with his own pieces such as Bella Terra, Cirque d'Hiver and Weebles Wobble (But They Don't Fall Down), the album holds Erik Satie's Sarabande and a Bach cello prelude arranged for guitar, and Randy Weston's Little Niles. The title track mixes classical, folk, jazz and blues around a classical core.
